Provides the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate chainsaw for the purpose of cutting up already fallen trees.

Leading self is about developing a level of self-awareness to better understand yourself, your own preferences, and the preferences of others. The implications of better self-awareness in understanding and managing your own behaviours and the behaviours of others to promote mutual understanding, respect and open communication.

This program is targeted at team leaders. The program provides contemporary leadership and management concepts to enhance leading a team, leading a team through change, developing good coaching skills as well as building a solid foundation for corporate governance and management practices.

This workshop can be used to capture attendance for a specific activity/exercise that is run in QFES. There is no outcome obtained for this course.

The QFES CPR course (QFESCPR) has been developed to provide QFES personnel with the knowledge and skills to undertake and provide a CPR response to casualties at an incident.

The QFES First Aid course (QFESAID) has been developed to provide all QFES personnel with the knowledge and skills to undertake and provide a first aid response in a variety of operational or non – operational medical scenarios.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) has established a comprehensive training framework to support incident management capability within the State Operations Centre (SOC). The framework aims to enhance the capability and readiness of the SOC flexible workforce. 

The operational structure of the SOC aligns with the Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS) and operates at the strategic level. 

The SOC Support course will equip staff with the knowledge and skills to work in various support roles within the SOC, including within the logistics, planning and administration sections.

This course is designed for QFES Trainers and Assessors to provide VET Professional Development. This is an attendance only workshop and the subject matter will vary depending on the Regional requirements

This program is designed for Fire Communication Officer recruits. Upon successful completion of this program, learners will be awarded the following qualifications:

• PUA30819 Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Communications Centre Operations – Call Taking)
• PUA30819 Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Communications Centre Operations – Dispatch)
