RCRC030 Heavy vehicle rescue equipment familiarisation (practical)​

RCRC030
RCRC030 is a 2 day workshop designed for HRCR equipment operators, this workshop will give the operators the skills to safely utilise a range of HRCR equipment in operational scenarios.

Introduction:

This workshop will give participants an understanding of:
  • heavy vehicle construction,
  • heavy vehicle hazards and how to deal with them,
  • heavy RCR equipment and how to use it safely at heavy vehicle incidents when conducting stabilisation, lifting and holding

Target Audience:

Permanent and Auxiliary (in certain areas) Firefighters who can be crewed on Kilo and Lima appliances

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify heavy vehicle components
  • Identify and manage heavy vehicle hazards
  • Identify, set up and operate a range of HRCR equipment
  • Stabilise/ lift and hold heavy vehicles
  • Manage heavy vehicle suspension components
  • Conduct scenario based rescue simulations
