Provides the skills and knowledge for you to care for, inspect, and use ladders for operational tasks.

Introduction:

The Ladders course has been developed to provide QFES members with the knowledge and skills to safely erect and climb a ladder during operational and non-operational situations. The course has been written to satisfy QFES organisational requirements.

SES Staff and Volunteer Members

Learning Outcomes:

  • SEM0304 Ladders

Learning Methods:

If this course is conducted via a Face-to-Face workshop. It is approximately 2.25 hours in duration
If this course is conducted via a Blended workshop. It is approximately 75 minutes in duration, plus approx. 30 minutes for eLearning.

Program Benefits:

  • Inspect the ladder
  • Safely carry the ladder, as part of a team
  • Erect the ladder utilising 1, 2 or 3 people (one method only required)
  • Correctly position the ladder
  • Secure the ladder using correct footing technique
  • Climb up and down the ladder (3 – 5 rungs) safely
